Our story
Purpose, put into practice.
A Christian foundation. A practical commitment to housing, learning and healthy independence.
Our mission
Anchor Community Trust exists to create and preserve affordable housing and pathways to homeownership for people facing financial hardship, strengthen families and communities, and connect practical education, meaningful employment, financial empowerment and wellbeing so people can build stable, healthy and independent lives.
Our connection to Walking Back to Christ Ministry
ACT was founded through Ian Herd and Walking Back to Christ Ministry to develop specialized nonprofit housing and training, from life skills to employment, helping people rebuild healthy, independent lives. The ministry provides the faith and restoration foundation; ACT carries that purpose into practical community development and service.
We welcome people with dignity. Spiritual participation is voluntary, and access to housing or training must not depend on religious participation.

Long-term stewardship
Our vision begins in Kingston and reaches across Ontario: safe places to live, opportunities to learn, pathways to meaningful work and support to move forward. Land and buildings should serve lasting community benefit.
Clear roles. Shared purpose.
ACT is the intended mission and community asset steward. Skylark Halo Corporation is the proposed specialist development and commercial delivery provider. Qualified education partners will deliver training through defined agreements. Each organization has distinct responsibilities, records and decision authority.
Technology serves people
Technology helps organize evidence and coordinate work. Accountable people remain responsible for decisions, care, professional services and the quality of delivery.
